Illustrated by Peter Spier
Based on an old song, this is a story about a fox who goes out to ransack the hen house and bring food to his family. The fox family is very appreciative of the fantastic meal, and unbeknownst to them, the humans are preparing to track him down the next time he makes an appearance. It isn’t long before his family asks him to go get more delicious food. The reader is left to fear for the fox’s fate at the end of the story and of the song.
This book would be great for using in a music class, where after reading the book, the students can sing the song.
