Rain Rain Rivers

By Uri Shulevitz

Published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1965

It is a rainy day.  Instead of being sad about the rain, or feeling stuck inside with nothing to do, the main character takes the reader with her in enjoying the sound, the sights and the feel of the rainy day.

This book could be used in a science unit about the water cycle, or in English class to discuss personification.
