Sheep in a Jeep

By Nancy Shaw

Illustrated by Margot Apple

Published by Houghton Mifflin, 1986

A group of sheep attempt to go on a journey in their Jeep, but things just keep going wrong.  First, they drive their Jeep into a mud puddle and can’t get it out.  Then the driver of the Jeep isn’t steering, and they crash into a tree.  Finally, they clean up the mess and put out a sign: “Jeep…for Cheap!”  The sheep, I’m sure, will find another way to find adventure.

This hilarious book is great for young readers who are tickled by the antics and stupid mistakes that the sheep continue to make.  The warm, light colored pencil sketches keep the mood light as the sheep experience one snafu after another.
