Watch William Walk

By Ann Jonas
Published by Greenwillow Books, 1997
This simple story is about William and his dog going for a walk, and then meeting up with a friend and her duck. The dog does not like walking with the duck, but it is only when the duck goes in the water to swim that all is well and they can all “walk” together.
The entire book is an example of alliteration, as all of the words in the book start with “W.” Also, the story is told by looking at the characters from above them, as opposed to looking at them straight on. The story is basically told by looking at the footprints that each character leaves behind.
I found the alliteration annoying and hated this book. That is all.
