This simple and creative book with oil paints and clever cutouts shows what comes first, and what comes after– “First the egg, / Then the chicken” is the first example. By the end of the book, all the items are loosely connected…and we are left with the concept that the connections mentioned work the other way, too; maybe the chicken comes first, after all!
Great example to use to discuss cause and effect. Does the author have it right? Can it be different?
