Bone Dog

By Eric Rohmann

Published by Roaring Book Press, 2011

Gus and Ella were best friends.  Ella became old and died, but promised Gus that she would come back.  When Gus was being hassled by skeletons in the graveyard on Halloween night, Ella returns as a bone dog and helps to to defeat the skeletons by setting real dogs upon them.  And there’s very little that dogs like more than bones!

This sweet folk tale doesn’t have much to offer for curriculum, but a great read for the Halloween and autumn season.
