In this book, a young girl in a big city is having a hard time sleeping in the confines of her bedroom. She takes her pillow and blanket up the stairs to the top of the building and sleeps under the stars instead. This is a tiny adventure, but small children will appreciate her willingness to follow her desires as well as by comforted that the girl’s mother watches over her as she slumbers.
Great geography connection, and talking about buildings in large cities upon which people plant gardens, have barbecues and generally utilize as their communal “lawn.”
